Sattom Alasad is a Los Angeles based, Saudi raised ar­chi­tect, de­signer, and DJ. Through draw­ing from mul­ti­ple dis­ci­plines to re­de­fine prob­lems, she takes a holis­tic ap­proach to de­sign and prob­lem-solv­ing. “By cre­at­ing a space, an ob­ject, or an ex­pe­ri­ence that is sup­port­ive to both our in­ner and outer senses, we can en­hance our con­nec­tion to the nat­ural en­vi­ron­ment and each other”.

Sattom’s fea­tured work is a se­ries of del­i­cate, dream­like vir­tual spaces. The un­fa­mil­iar, but sooth­ing and min­i­mal spaces are de­prived of color to ac­cen­tu­ate the nat­ural ef­fect of light on the dif­fer­ent ar­chi­tec­tural vol­umes. The el­e­ment of wa­ter in a for­eign color, berry red, is a com­mon fea­ture al­ways pre­sent. This was the first dig­i­tal se­ries of reim­aged spaces Sattom cre­ated in March 2020, which has now grown into an ever-evolv­ing vir­tual world, her very own silent gar­den.
